Welcome…

Welcome to CoffeeCamping.com.

We enjoy Coffee & Camping and do so in many ways from Car Camping, to Backpack Camping, to Thru-Hike Camping. No matter the method to get outside, we like to camp!

Car Camping:

Car Camping allows the camper to bring pretty much what ever they want. There are portable versions of most everything these days. With electric hookups, there really isn’t a limit. When we Car Camp we don’t have any electrical Coffee devices. We use either Campfire, Portable Gas Stove, or Twig Stove to heat the water. While the components of coffee-making at not so heavy, they can be bulky. When car-camping, bulk isn’t much of a factor, and water can be unlimited.

Backpack Camping:

Backpacking limits the range a little depending on water sources along the trail. Due to weight and bulk, water and coffee-making are generally more limited. Moka Pot and French Press are both viable options for Backpacking. In either case, pre-measure your coffee so you’re not carrying around too much. Moka Pot and French Press can offer a unique flavor, or make concentrated coffee to share with a group as Americano.

Thru-Hike Camping:

Generally, when Thru-Hike Camping weight and bulk are kept to a minimum, in addition is the consideration of refuse from disposed materials. With a kettle for cooking, either the Moka or French Press might be overkill for the Thru-Hike adventure. When hiking with a buddy or group, be sure to consult with travel companions to assemble the cooking, shelter, and filtration systems so that items are not duplicated.
